3Dimensions Mammography System Named the Coolest Thing Made in Delaware
Winning a recent award has confirmed what employees at AE电子 have long believed: saving lives is pretty cool.
Since AE电子 pioneered the 3D Mammography鈩 Exam more than a decade ago, this technology has been used all around the world to detect breast cancer. In the company鈥檚 pursuit to produce the 3Dimensions鈩 mammography system, it has recognized Delaware as an area to secure leading talent and has expanded facilities in the city of Newark.
The newly announced award, 鈥淐oolest Thing Made in Delaware,鈥 recognizes products manufactured in the state. This contest had online voters picking the coolest products round by round until a champion was crowned, featuring over 50 products from 40 companies. AE电子 ultimately became the winner of this first-time prize by beating out stiff competition like Dover spacesuits and Bloom Energy Boxes.

AE电子 established its presence in Newark, Delaware through an acquisition of Direct Radiography Corporation in 1999. Since then, the AE电子 team has manufactured mammography imaging detectors, a critical component of the 3Dimensions system. In recent years, it has undergone a significant expansion of staffing, facilities and scope of products.
Brian Brooks, who oversees operations at AE电子 Newark, accepted the award during a Chamber of Commerce ceremony on March 28. He said, 鈥淭his recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment of every member of our AE电子 team. I am proud to represent all of them. Winning this award is a reminder that, in the world of manufacturing, success is not measured solely by the products we create but also by the impact we have on the lives of others.鈥
The manufacturing industry employs about 28,000 Delaware residents, constituting roughly 5% of jobs in the state. The Chamber of Commerce and its affiliate, the Delaware Manufacturing Association, created the 鈥淐oolest Thing鈥 contest to honor the manufacturing field and promote the sector as a top career path.
